In addition to many other events next week, it is also Wish Week. The Standley Lake Student Council is supporting Macklynn age 7 who has a nervous system disorder and other wish kids in our local Westminster area. Link to Wish donation site. Make-A-Wish is a wonderful organization that grants wishes to children that have extreme difficulties. We are trying to raise at least $8000 to support the amazing work that Make-A-Wish does for our community.
The Student Council has planned many daily and week-long events that students can donate to support Wish Week. The details are below. Things that are helpful for students to participate, spare change, small bills, and some event will take card. All of the money collected during these events will go to support Macklynn and other wish kids in our area. Many events and activities have prizes associated with them. The Grand Prizes for the week are two Casa Bonita gift card sets worth up to $500 each.
Activities Happening Every Day
-There will be a “Spin-to-Win” and a Plinko Board in upper commons for $1 play for a prize.
-“Make it Stop” will be happening all week. An annoying song will play though the speakers during passing period and lunch and it will only stop once enough money has been raised.
- All week there will be a special competition going on between classes and teachers: Everyone who wants to participate can buy beaded necklaces $1, you can play Rock, Paper, Scissors with other participants, the loser must give all their necklaces to the winner. Once students have 25 necklaces, they can play with teachers. Whoever has the most necklaces on the assembly day wins special recognition on assembly day and a Casa Bonita Gift Card ($500+). You can also buy more necklaces from the financial office.

Attention Creative Gators! Mrs. Newton is looking for 7-10 gators to help with face painting at the Annual Gator Games. Please see or contact Mrs. Newton if you'd like to sign up for a shift during the Games. Without your help this event will not be possible. Last year was so much fun and any of those volunteers who wish to return are greatly appreciated.
Today will be the final day of the Asian Student Society boba sale! Swing by 7th hour and after school and treat yourself to a Thai Tea. Remember $5 - cash only!
Monday's spirit day is “Dynamic Duos”: Find a partner and dress up as your favorite iconic duo. Scooby-Doo and Shaggy, Minnie and Mickey Mouse, Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy, etc,. Then come to the Seniors vs. Teachers Basketball Game in the main gym. 4:00pm-5:30pm. Tickets are $3. Concessions will be sold in the gator cafe. There will also be a “Chuck-The-Gator '' game during halftime: You buy little gators and toss them at a ring in the middle of the court, whoever gets their gator closest to the ring gets a Casa Bonita Gift Card worth over $500! Let's Pack the House!
Attention Hungry Teenagers! Do you like pancakes? Why not try a German version called Kaiserschmarrn (kai-zer-schm-are-n)? Our German exchange students have prepared some samples for you to taste at lunch. Come see them in the front commons to grab yours today!

Prom guest permission slips are available in the main office. Please ensure that you collect your permission slips promptly. They must be completed and turned into the main office no later than Wednesday, April 24th by 3:30 pm. Remember, there will be NO EXCEPTIONS to this deadline. Get your prom tickets NOW. The cost is $60 each. You can purchase them through the Parent Portal, in the Finance office or by using the QR code on the prom posters.
